Courtyard House

Bringing vision to life with conceptual design

Designed as a conceptual home for a client in upstate New York, Courtyard was conceived prior to site acquisition, allowing the design to inform lot selection. The result is a low-slung, modern residence that can adapt to a variety of sites while maintaining a strong internal logic.

The plan is organized around a central courtyard, which creates a series of connected indoor-outdoor spaces and allows light to penetrate the heart of the home. Natural materials like fluted wood and stone root the design in the landscape, while the flexible layout ensures long-term adaptability. By completing the conceptual design early, our client moved forward confidently in selecting a site that supports their architectural vision.
